Taco Bell An American Version of Mexican Fast Food

America is known for it’s ability to combine many different cultures and backgrounds together to make a great nation, it is even more famous for doing this with food. The United States is known for its fast food industry. With this also comes a blend of various food with an American twist. One example is the well known and popular fast food restaurant Taco Bell. While Taco Bell is not labeled strictly as Mexican food, I believe it draws enough inspiration from traditional Mexican cuisine that it should be judged on the regular Mexican food standard. If a person were to compare the â€Å"Mexican† food served at Taco Bell to traditional Mexican dishes, people would find the Americanized versions severely lacking. Taco Bell ignores many popular and more traditional dishes, it also does not use many common ingredients that have become a Mexican food staple such as fish, and - the biggest travesty of them all-Taco Bell greatly misuses salsa. As a Mexican-American myself I a m fairly familiar with many Mexican dishes. I have also had food from Taco Bell on a number of occasions. The headliners of the Taco Bell menu are what now is considered stereotypic Mexican food, tacos and burritos. While there are tacos and burritos in Mexico, and they are popular there as well, there are also a number of equally popular dishes that Taco Bell ignores. What effect does the theme of fate have on the play ? Romeo and Juliet is a tragic love story where the two lovers meet their unfortunate deaths caused by their feuding families and forbidden love. The play encircles the vital theme of fate, as demonstrated by a series of events that occur. Firstly, the sheer birth of the â€Å"pair of star-cross’d lovers† into controversial families is an act of fate. Furthermore, fate takes a strike when Friar John was unable to deliver the letter to Romeo on time, therefore leading him to believe in Juliet’s death. Within this love story stars are employed as the metaphor of fate. After Romeo realizes that Juliet is ‘dead’ he cries â€Å".. then I defy you, stars! † In conclusion, â€Å"Romeo and Juliet† validates the theme of fate proficiently as Shakespeare carefully establishes the characters and plot contained by it. Training Skips Effective Techniques Of Teaching U.S. Educators Training Skips Effective Techniques of Teaching: Article Review The article, U.S. Educators Training Skips Effective Techniques of Teaching, states that teachers in the United States have not been sufficiently trained on the details of beneficial teaching techniques. According to a study done by James W. Stigler, the United States teaching styles are drastically different than those of other countries. For example, Stigler found that teachers in America focus their math lessons primarily on rote learning and repetitive drills. On the other hand, in Japan teachers let the students make mistakes in hopes that these mistakes will later help them understand the problem and the reasoning behind it. The article also explains how teachers in the United States tend to stay isolated in their room and do not share or discuss their teaching techniques and experiences with each other in order to seem unintrusive. In Japan, the teachers often form teams to create lessons and share ideas while also clustering all their desks into one room. A third example of t he differences among American schools compared to schools in other countries is the teachers main topics of discussion concerning their students. In America teachers tend to discuss student discipline instead of instruction, while in Japan, discussion focuses on different ways to teach lessons and concepts. This article states how American teachers need to work collaboratively and share their knowledge with their colleagues in order to help our students. I agree with this article when it states that [the U.S.] needs to create a culture in which teachers examine the way they teach and how they can better achieve their own goals. I feel that this article gave some good examples on how American schools need to improve their teaching techniques to help the students. While it is important to teach students the process of a math problem, for example, it is also just as important to teach them the underlying concept for the problem. Children need to be able to experiment and discover for themselves what math concepts mean in order to own and understand the information or skill. If students are not taught reasons for why they are learning something, they will not be interested. I also believe that discussions between teachers should focus on sharing their techniques and instructional ideas with each other rather than on discipline and logistics. Sharing should not be considered to be intrusive but as a way to build better teachers. I feel th at the reason for so much discipline discussion is that American teachers dont have any power in disciplining their students, so therefore the students are more apt to create problems. On the other hand, in Japan, when a teacher speaks, the children have respect for authority and they listen. This creates a better learning environment because teachers do not have to deal with as many behavioral problems and therefore have more time to concentrate on techniques and instruction. Education

Bulanan 2011- 42642 Reaction Paper: Kinetics Festival 2012 (Thursday) For four nights (September 25-28), the Department of Human Kinetics held recital performances from different dancing classes of PE2. The entire show was conducted to demonstrate what the students have learned in their respective classes as well as for the entertainment of the whole student body. During the 4th night, a number of sections of line dance, modern dance, belly dance and street jazz danced their feet off flaunting their acquired knowledge of callisthenic techniques.And for a whole hour the entire show was filled with laughter, amazement, and pure entertainment. The performances consisted majority of street jazz and modern dances. Each group presented satisfactorily. Inevitably, some routines were less synchronized and their moves were not showcased well-enough. There were also moments when the movements and dance steps lack power and distinction. However, these mishaps were the source of comedy for the audience rousing them more. In addition, it can be suggested that the other groups should have chosen more appropriate song accompaniment and costumes to liven up their exhibition.There was also a set of performers which obviously did not incorporate more original steps and seemed to have gotten their moves from an existing performance found on the internet or a video somewhere. No matter what, the whole show was very much entertaining. The small cost of the ticket for that event was so much worth the spectacle. The whole Baker Hall stadium was filled with students who were expecting to be entertained as well as support their fellow students who were tasked to display the knowledge taught during their PE sessions.For a start multiple performances from line dance class perked up the crowd with their witty acts. Some members were really outstanding while there were a few who seemed to have forgotten their beats. One group of dancers chose a very matching set of costumes which enunciate their cowboy theme. There are specific ways to handle each situation that will minimize the risk to the company during the selection process. Speedy Delivery Service (SDC) The first case example chosen to demonstrate improper employment selection practices is Speedy Delivery Service. SDC would prefer not to hire women to perform deliveries for them. To discourage women from applying, SDC has decided to show extremely large, bulky, heavy packages to the women that are interested in the job. The prospective female applicants are lead to believe the job requires them to carry these object up multiple flights of steps without assistance, therefore discouraging them from applying for the job. Male applicants are not shown this same demonstration, therefore encouraging the male applicants (Moran, 2008. Ch. 2). The strategy that SDC is using in this case will increase the risks for the company to be charged with discriminatory hiring practices. This is a prime example of gender discrimination. Once SDC has chosen potential new hires, they can have prospective employees demonstrate that they have the capability to meet the physical requirements to perform the deliveries. If a female prospect has the same potential as a male prospect, they should be given the opportunity to have the job. If the females are not chosen, SDC must be able to explain why the female was not chosen. Long and Short Long and Short is worried about hiring a prospective employee that has children. When hiring for a specific shift, or if worried about whether a new hire can work the required schedule a company can clearly find out this information. Without making specific request referencing children, Long and Short could simply ask about restrictions on the days or hours that a prospective employee can work. If for example, the position is for an evening shift and the prospective employee states that they can only work dayshifts, then the company has every right not to hire this individual. As long as each prospective employee is asked the same exact questions referencing availability for shifts, there is no discrimination. In asking a generic question to each prospective employee, the risk to the company is reduced. Conclusion Proper employment selection processes can decrease the risk of a company being sued for discriminatory hiring practices. The primary practice is to ensure that all prospective employees are tested the exact same, and asked the exact same questions. You cannot make testing processes lean towards or against a specific race or gender. The hiring process requires each individual to have the same opportunity to obtain employment. If it is shown that the testing practices exceeds the need for the job, then this is a discriminatory practice and the company will be in a higher risk. However, Mark seems semi-normal, and he explains that where his family used to live, in New York, people are not neighborly. Jessica likes Mark despite that she does not know much about him. When she calls Lori, Jess discovers that she is interested in a new student also, Scott. Before the school year starts, Jess and Lori decide to spend one last day at the nearby lake. To get to the lake, they take a shortcut through the woods. They are the only ones who know about the shortcut. On the way to the lake, they stop at a large rock they had named Castle Rock as children. Instead of continuing on to the lake, Jess and Lori sit on the rock and talk for a while. Then, Jess thinks someone is watching them, and both of them run out of the forest. That night, Jess sees Mark again and is curious about what looks like tree moss on his shoes. She immediately questions him about whether he has ever been in the woods. However, even when Mark says he has never been in the woods, Jess has a herd time believing him. Lady Macbeth is not necessarily worried about Macbeth and his mental state because of her love for him, she is merely worried about her husband exposing the secret that only her and Macbeth know about, killing King Duncan. After waking up crying one morning, Winston shares a memory of his childhood Tijuana; he recalls the time him and his sister and mother spent most of their days in underground shelters, hiding from air raids. Many times, Winston and his family went without food. From starving one day, Winston stole chocolate from his mother and sister and ran away, never seeing them again.Winston constantly dreams about his mother and Is convinced he murdered her because he stole her chocolate and left her there to starve. However, his subconscious Is his only road to the truth. Although the reader is given small memories on his childhood â€Å"nothing remained of his childhood except a series of bright-lit tableaux occurring against no background and mostly unintelligible† (Orwell, 3). Implying, the reader is not really told anything of his childhood besides the subconscious memories and few unclear images In 1984, the God Is represented through Big Brother.This Is true because Big Brother Is perceived as the ruler of Oceania and he Is a very high figure to the people.
